I think the photographer must be very fast on the draw, so to say. Some of the cats look positively unhappy with the hats like this one:

Victor, I think this type of cats look unhappy whatever you do with them :p If it is a hat or anything else. So I wouldn't bother :D And it doesn't look very vivid and like it wanted to go anywhere. Only like it was saying "ohhh, goooo awaaaay and let me sleep".

Oh, you mean Persians? I have seen quite a few Persians. They don't always look that grumpy. This one doesn't look that unhappy.

Wow, this is one of the best pictures I've seen of a cat. Somebody did a great job. Thanks for sharing.

I love cats in hats! I love it just as much as kitties in little Halloween costumes. Adorable!

Uhm, that brings my theory down... :D
This one indeed is really cute and looks normal. And what geogrous eyes it has! Blue?! That's not typical, isn't it? I only know kittens till ca. 6 weeks have blue eyes.

Blue eyes are quite common with Persians. Quite common with Siamese, too. These would be a bit uncommon.

THIS is uncommon (are you sure it's only "a bit"? :p ) even for people :D
But I like this, it's so original, and I like original things. Freak of nature;)

I've never head a Persian and I knew only one, with normal eyes.

Oh, and that supposed to be a thread about cats in hats  I'm shoving off this moment...

Those blue eye/green eye cats actually have a name: "odd-eyed"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odd-eyed_cat

Fun fact, about 70% of them are born deaf in one ear, too. And they're almost always white cats.

Here are some more of the odd-eyed cats: http://www.cathow.com/threads/15-beautiful-odd-eyed-cats.1289/

And as for the blue eyes, I love them in general. <3 My kitty has blue eyes and I can only assume she's part Siamese given her coloring. It's such a pain to take pictures of her, though, because any bit of light makes her eyes show up as red instead.

Sounds like some kind of genetic defect then. I didn't know that they are also deaf in one ear. There's a dog breed which is notable for two-color eyes. I think it's the Husky. Wonder if they also suffer from deafness in one ear.

    Awe, so much cute!

This photo looks a lot like my cat, Sammy. Only more scared- haha!

I can't imagine Sammy ever letting me put a hat on him. (Or a collar with a bell. He hates those.) But he will let put a bandana on him quite frequently.
