Do your cats actually sleep in cat beds ever or do they reject them?

Mine seem to somehow know that I got something just for them and therefore, they have no interest in them after the first five minutes.

My cat doesnt have a bed. One sleeps in bed with us (I woke up spooning her last night) and one sleeps in a big cardboard box. My cats just like to be involved in my life, so are not at all into cat beds!

Neither of our cats will use them. I think it's because they really don't like sleeping on the floor or low to the ground. Our cats usually sleep up on top of the dresser or on our computer chair. I think they must feel safer being up and away from anything.

That makes sense. Have you ever tried putting the beds up higher to see if they would sleep on them up higher?

Both of my cats slept in a cat cube bed but only until they were a couple of months old and after that they haven't even looked twice at them. My two month old kitten now prefers to sleep on the back of the couch or under the covers with me in bed and my 3 year old cat sleeps anywhere - on the arm of the couch, sprawled out on the floor in any room, etc.

The dog I take care of for a relative sleeps in a dog bed or any mat or pillow I lay down for him. He seems to understand that if I'm laying something out on the floor near him, he's supposed to lie down on it.

My cat, however will sniff a cat bed and walk away from it and sleep on the couch or a pile of laundry. Typical.

Yeah Cats don't seem to understand pet bed technology. I found mine sleeping on a photoframe today, and she looked at me as if to say "what are you looking at silly human?!"

HA! I've gotten that look before! I think it's along the same concept as us humans spending all that money on different cat toys to try and make our cats happy when in reality they're just as content, if not more so, to play with a crumpled up ball of tin foil or one of our socks!

I don't think cats think the beds are good enough for them. Neither of our cats will sleep in cats beds.
However, I've caught Pepsi sleeping in one when no one was around.
I came home from school and opened a door of a room that wasn't mine... There she was. Sleeping in a cat bed.
    I've not seen it since.

    Pics or it didn't happen.

That's the sort of thing that I simply can't believe without proof. There's no way that cat would be caught dead in a pet bed unless it was the dog's and she was doing it to spite him, lol.

All mine love their beds, although during the day they sleep anywhere, floor, sofa, cat beds, under the stairs etc. When our girls give birth they have their own kittening room with their own sofa bed with cushions, they love to curl up on there.

Nope. It was Pepsi in that red cat bed we got her. No pics ):

Neko will gladly sleep on top of them?

This seems suitable for here, too:

So true that they seem to always want to sleep anywhere BUT where is intended for them.

You can never forget those "hooded" beds for cats. They never sleep *in* the bed... possibly on top.

This is basically what happens with Zod. He completely ignores the cat bed and will favour my chair, pillows, piles of clean clothes, piles of wet clothes waiting to be dried, my HEAD, my chest, and basically everywhere else aside from where he's supposed to be sleeping.

Oh, and he likes to sleep in the sink too.

Piles of wet clothes? I've never seen that. I've seen the cats sleep in the clean clothes and the dirty clothes waiting to be washed.
I've never seen them sleep on anything wet... Maybe my cats are just prissy.

I found one of my cats sleeping on my sweater yesterday. I was a little taken back because she was really anti-social with everyone when we got her, but has been slowly coming around. It was almost as if she was saying "no, you're not going anywhere, because I said so". So cute, she was sawing logs on it.
