We have a very active outdoor cat name Indy who is also very sleek and trim. He only ever manages to keep a collar for about two weeks before he will proudly come trotting home naked once again. We usually get tear-away or stretchy collars because those are the safest for cats, but replacing the collars is getting annoying and expensive. We are also unable to put his city registration information on his collar because we can't keep replacing it, so we are just hoping that nobody complains.

I would love some advice either on better collar types that don't fall off but are safe for agile, active cats, or a way to keep his current collars on him.

My cats have really long long fur and when they were little they ALWAYS slipped their collar. I started buying smaller collers and putting them on fairly tight. They are used to them now so slip it less, but like I said, my cats are complete fluffballs.

I really can't help with this one. I don't use the tear-away ones because well, they tear away. Fitting them tighter might help. All they need is enough room for you to slip two fingers under the band. Tightening it as close as you can at that point might help?
