A cat who lost a leg after being thrown from a moving car has been reunited with his petmom, who had been searching for her missing pet for a few days.
“Fearless Fred,” whose real name is Bebe, made the news after he was the victim of an act of cruelty that traumatized him and cost him a leg.

Bebe was abducted from his Canterbury, New Zealand home or neighborhood on Friday, September 12 by some unknown person and thrown from a car on Cashel Street in Linwood that afternoon. He was taken to a vet by an eyewitness to the incident. He was then taken into the care of the Canterbry SPCA and had a badly damaged front leg amputated at Hornby Veterinary Centre. The SPCA recognized him as likely being someone’s pet and put out an appeal looking for his owner. His petmom had no idea what had happened and she searched and put up flyers trying to find her missing cat. She visited the SPCA after a few days, still having no idea he was there, had been the victim of an act of animal cruelty and had made the news.

Bebe and his petmom were reunited at the shelter. “Mom,” a Miss Lu, was grateful to have her beloved boy back with her and was very distressed upon learning of his ordeal.
