Hi, I have a long-hair cat and she has terrible dandruff. Unfortunately it gets caught in her fur and quickly gets matted. I was wondering if there was something I could add to her diet so her skin wouldn't be so dry. Any suggestions?

She REFUSES to let me comb her so that is not an option. :(

    Thanks!

What type of food are you feeding the cat? Wet? Dry? What are the main ingredients?

Sometime switching to a high quality wet food can really change the health status of a cat!

I have one cat that HATES to be brushed, so I started to use a soft bristled hair brush on him, and he seems to like that. I also wash him with a wet sponge along his body to clean his coat. He gets matted fur along his bottom because his hair is so long.

Bathing will dramatically help as will high quality foods like Royal Canin and rotisserie chicken. I only bathe my Persians in plain water - they hate the taste of shampoo but will willingly jump in after a bit of shower-curtain finger play provided the tub is half full and they’re allowed to stand on their hind legs under the tap . They feel in control and love a warm soft clean towel and hours long cuddle in your bed afterwards. I have zero skin issues except with my oldest cat - who really prefers eating cheap cat food unfortunately. ( she was raised in a basement as an extra kitten- lucky to have survived at all)
