The cat I have that has diabetes also had what I thought was dandruff for quite some time. I recently found out that cats that have this hair condition usually have diabetes. I never knew about this information. Does anyone know of other health conditions that may cause this condition within the hair?

I did some reading and turns out, there's all sorts of things that can cause it. Even just poor nutrition can cause the dandruff apparently, although I've never really seen it on any of my cats.

I have seen it on some of the strays I bring home. It's very difficult to cure when it's at an advanced stage. Or maybe what I saw wasn't dandruff anymore. It looked more like scabies.

I suppose this is another similarity with humans as we can have all kinds of reasons for conditions such as dandruff. Can you get a specialist shampoo to use on your cat?
