Do cats have a sixth sense?

Mine is always able to tell when the phone is about to ring before it actually does, she'll go to the phone and meow about 30 seconds before a call comes through.. but this is about as far as my cats psychic skills go.

I read an article on a cat that was able to predict which residents of a nursing home were going to die, by sitting on their lap.

does anyone else's cat have special skills?

 

My current cat doesn't seem to have any special skills, but my old cat Tricky could pick up on my moods and would give "kisses" or touch my face when I was depressed or crying.

 

Cats also get crazy before an earthquake. Mine would meow and act funny the day before we'd have one.

 

Nikki, that's so interesting! Is this a characteristic quite normal amongst cats? I heard that before the Tsnunami in Indonesia, many animals fled to high lands and farm animals went crazy, long before there was any sign of the natural disaster. Isn't that fascinating?

 

In old farming communities farmers would predict the weather by the birds.

 

I've read similar reports and experience certain things. My lady could be on the street walking home and suddenly the two boys would rush to the door and wait. It's amazing. They also have their eyes wide open and are amazed by something floating in the apartment in the evening. My fiancee thinks it's a spirit or something from another dimension. I have no idea what it could be.

 

Yes mine are mesmerized by dust in the air. That twighlight time where the sun comes in at the right angle really lights it all up. My favorite is when they are hyper and do the whole kung fu thing with the dust like theyre really gonna kill it all.
