    Hi everyone,

There are a lot of fun sayings and proverbs out there and I love to hear some from everyones favorites. One of my favorites is "when the cat is not at home, the mice dance on the dinner table". It's a proverb from Holland, where I come from, and it means that once the supervising person it not around people will do all kind of things they are told not to do.
Which ones do you have to share?

That is kind of similar to what my aunt always said, "When the cats away the mouse will play." I don't know if this really counts as a saying but my mother made a cross stich piece when I was a child that featured a cat surrounded by hearts. The saying below the cat was "Love me, love my cat." I always loved that and it is so true, if you love me you gotta learn to love my cat as well!

I guess that's exactly the same as the Dutch saying, although I never heard the English version before. Thanks so much for sharing. I love the sharing on the cross stitch piece, it's very true indeed!

How about the one that says that a cat has nine life's. That is a cat doesn't die easily and its capable of reviving even after death. And what about the one that says that curiosity killed the cat but determination brought it back to life.
