My calico female gets a lot of hair balls. She is a longer hair cat, but I was wondering if anyone had any treatment recommendations. I know that there are in-store items that can be purchased for treating hair balls, but I was just wondering if anyone has tried one and had it work really well. Any and all information will be really helpful.

Yes, if you go to your vet you can get Laxitone, it is a mild lubricant/laxative, that comes in Tuna flavour...my kitten liked it so much she chewed through the container to eat it. If you cannot get this, petrolium jelly will help if fed to your cat, but there might be more of a struggle involved in getting them to eat that.

Both my cats have never had hairballs, and they are very long haired, I do not know if this is because of the Laxitone or if I am just lucky!
