I've read that cats can have as many as 100 kittens in their lifetime, and they tend to have between 1-8 kittens in each litter, but how many litters is considered an average number of a cat that is used as a breeding cat? I know my friend's cat had 4 litters of between 5-7 kittens and I thought that seemed like a lot of litters!

Holy cow !!!! No that is absolutely NOT normal.

Every momma cats uterus thins every single time she has kittens. Five litters I think is the healthy maximum. That’s only fifteen kittens tops for a healthy long life . Breeding is NOT a profitable activity. This is NOT a way to make a living.

You can breed totally genetically different cats from the same species but please understand if you bought them closely geographically they are almost certainly related .

Mine are extremely healthy because I have an Egyptian one a New York one and a Florida one .They’re all purebred obvious Persians but totally different looking and acting . The mix makes the kittens ridiculously healthy.
