..cats have you lived with simultaneously?

My count is nine. I wasn't a crazy cat lady, I was living in an animal sanctuary that catered for nine cats, four dogs, numbers of guinea pigs and rabbits I can't recall, and over a hundred rodent variations. Let's just say it was BUSY. I also recall we had to take on and care for FIVE syphilitic budgies. Yes. Syphilitic budgies. How do they even GET that?

It was very weird moving away, and not having the constant squeaking and snuffling of the guinea pigs about, along with the pitter patter of canine claws on the floor, and mentalist cat episodes on a daily basis. It was tiring work, but absolutely worth it.

We've got three. I do have a crazy cat lady best friend of mine who has like 15 and her house is pretty rough with odors. I sometimes volunteer at a local cat shelter where they have like 40 or so, and let me tell you, when I walk in there in the morning when no one has been in there all night to clean up - the smell is flat out putrid.

For inside cats, only 2. I think we may have had more when I was younger and the one would have kittens, but then those would be gotten rid of.

Outside cats, though? A lot more than that. It was a feeding frenzy when I would go out with food. Holy cow! So many kitties.

At most I've lived with two; the present cats my fiancee moved in with. Years ago, I only lived with one but it was the landlord's cat that hung out in the boiler room we lived in when I was 15 years old. He was a cutie, but definitely neglected because his hair was all matted.

If you think cat pee smells nasty, try living in an area where there's rabbit urine around. It's terribly strong smelling, it has a higher ammonia content that feline urine, and it actually bleaches whatever it lands on. It will make you choke if you walk into a hut or a place where there's rabbit urine that hasn't been attended to for a while.

I currently have 4 cats. 3 of them are in the main house and one is very feral and hates being around guests so we put him in our den which is detached from the house. He loves it back there and we leave a window open so he goes in and out has he pleases. The other cats visit him too.

I currently only have one kitten, I think one kitten is enough for my boyfriend and I. We work a lot so we don't have much time to spend with the kitten.

The most cats I've ever had is 5. I presently have just one. I don't think I'll ever get up to 5 again because it was a lot of work to maintain them and clean up after them.

I have two, brother and sister, from the same litter. These are my first cats ever...I can slowly see myself becoming a crazy cat lady, but I think 2 is the perfect number, because you can give them they attention they need as well as giving them both company for when you are away.
