I found this story about a little cat who has 27 toes! The little guy is in good health and very active. According to what information I could get, it is actually the whole litter of kittens. The one in the picture has 27 toes and the rest have 26, 7 on each foot in the front and 6 on each back paw.

Here is the link for the shelter who has them.

Thanks for sharing this photo! What a cute kitten. I didn't think I'd find a kitten with 27 toes as cute as I do. I almost squealed seeing the photo.:) It's great to hear that this kitten and it's brothers and sisters are all happy and healthy. I wonder if the litter has so many toes due to genetics? Are they up for adoption? Too bad I live in New Zealand.

Awwww! I wonder what happened to cause an entire litter of kittens to come out like that, and if future litters will have that many toes. Also, that'll make for some more scratching/sharpening claws action.

I have seen an entire family of cats with extra toes. All of them had six toes on every paw. It's a hereditary thing apparently. The cats looked healthy to me. I had also once had a tabby with six toes on every paw but not all her kittens inherited the extra toes.

That kitten is beautiful and the toes don't really bother me. I love his sweet little face. He is precious. :)
