Is your cat a kneeder? sometimes I feel like Im a big blob of cat dough. While I appreciate the affection I dont appreciate the happy claws. Why exactly do they do this?

I read that kneading is how kittens get the milk flowing from the mother cat's nipple. Your cats think you are the mother cat and Lulu and Rosie want to nurse. It's just leftover behavior from their kitten days. I would take it as a compliment that they see you as part of their cat family.

They do it usually to aid the flow of milk from their mother, as kittens. Since they associate being fed as pleasurable, when they're happy or sitting on someone/thing that makes them feel content, they pummel and knead. We cut our cat's claws down a little bit every couple of weeks to minimise clawing etc, but if we don't, end up wincing when he starts to knead. We don't believe in declawing cats, but we do trim his claws a little.

    Evilsprinkles explained the reason perfectly.

And yes, mine definitely kneads. She used to do it to my tummy especially which both tickled, hurt, and felt really funky, lol.

My Bengal, Phoebe kneeds all the time, but it is always on the same thing which is the blanket I use at night when I sleep. My wife used to use that blanket. I wonder if it is because she smells our scent on the blanket.

That would make sense because I have never seen her kneed on anything else.
