I think this sums us all up pretty well!!

Dusty stays on the ground during the cooking of food, but he's taken to getting on the counter when someone is washing dishes. Everything else is spot on. :p

I can see where cooking and washing hands would be frustrating, but the illustrations of peeing and and surfing the web seem to actually be improved by the cat. Peeing is boring, I actually don't mind my cat Delores hanging out in the bathroom with me. We're just 2 girls hanging out in the ladies' room.
But I definitely don't want her on the counter when I'm chopping anything.

Peeing is pretty boring, Dusty loves being in there because we're stuck on the toilet so we feel obligated to pet him when he's in our lap. Dusty is a boy though, so I'm the only lady!:p
Oh, definitely! It would be awful if Dusty thought the knife was a toy or even worse, tried to rub on it!! A reason to be glad he doesn't want up there during cooking time. If we're washing dishes it's much easier to pause and remove him. It just takes longer to do the dishes!

Haha this is right on the money. Especially how my cat sits right in front of my computer monitor while I'm surfing the web. He's an attention hog for sure.

This is so true for me, when I wake up in the morning Bandit is sitting waiting on me, I go to the bathroom he follows me and demands cuddles as I am getting ready, as I move through the house they will run after me and jump into my coat before I leave. After I come home they are waiting at the front door for me. At that point, Bandit gets picked up and put on my shoulder, he lies there for a while as I go round the house, check my mail, tidy up etc. As I cook he either stands on his hind legs beside me, or if he is feeling lazy, jumps up onto the fridge and watches me from up there, as he knows he isn't allowed on the counter tops. Pussington too is pretty clingy but more so with my boyfriend, as soon as he takes off any item of clothing, or moves from any seat she is in it, snuggling into his smell.

The most accurate for me would be the cooking bit! Sibyl doesn't ever stay off the counter, no matter how many times I push her off, because she wants to try every ingredient to everything I'm cooking. No matter if it's good for her or if she even likes it.

It's so cute when they follow us around! Him being on your shoulder reminds me of a post that blurinoctober made. :p Maybe Bandit is part bird, with sitting on your shoulder. It sounds like he wants to be part of "the action." Awwww, Pussington sounds like a total sweetheart!:D

Haha!! What a goob! She wants to be a part of it too, or maybe she's just "testing" the ingredients for you.:p I can't imagine her eating something strong, like a pepper, without some fierce repercussions! It must be tiresome shooing her all the time though. Mac used to stay under my mom's feet and no matter how hard she tried she would trip over him and it would make her so mad.

Yeah he is getting to big to sit on my shoulder now...not that it stops him any! She is such a cutie pie, she is totally unique, whenever she wants cuddles she lets you know she comes strolling up and just flops over onto your feet!

Haha! Its like their body gets big but they think they're still kitten size! Maybe the just think everything around them got smaller.:p Awww, she actually likes cuddling? We don't see that very often here, and when they do want to cuddle they wake us up by laying on us and purring. Dusty will flop on our feet too, but for attention and not for cuddles. Your cat is more proof that cats are affectionate, and loving.:D

Oh, it is! Sometimes I'll lock her in my bedroom to keep her off the counter. I don't want all of my food to taste like cat hair. I'm just waiting for her to get into something too strong and to have an experience like you said! So far her sense of smell has kept her away from it.. but one day.

Oh jeez, the cat hair is definitely not an addition to the food! That's another good reason to keep the cats off the counter, it's just additional cleaning from all the hair. And it would be pretty funny if she gets into something strong, like when the cats get curious and sniff something with black pepper and they sneeze.
