From what I understand male calico cats are very very rare and if you ever find one it would be worth a lot of money. Do you think this is true? I have to admit ever since I heard this I have looked for one but all I find are females.

Wow. I have never heard this before, but now that I think about it, I have only seen female calico cats. There is a stray calico who hangs out in front of my house and she is mean and bullies everyone, but that's because she is usually pregnant. We are trying to trap her to get her fixed, but she is vicious lol I will keep an eye out for her next round of kitties.

It is true as far as I know, apparently male calicos only result from a genetic mutation. My cat Smudge gave birth to 4 calico kittens at the weekend so I will be interested to find out what sex they are!

I hear that if you find a male calico or tortioseshell cat, it is a rare genetic mutation.
