I wish my cats liked leashes I would like to take them outside on a leash but both of them freak out if you even put a collar on them. I have tried a harness and they will just lay on the floor and not move as soon as you put it on. We use to have a cat when we were kids that use to love to go swimming. We would take the dog for a swim and the cat would come along and swim with the dog. Everybody would always gather around to watch him swimming. That was many years ago and I have never had a cat like that since.
Awwwww, he is looooooooovely!!!! When I read the title I thought he was going to jump into the water, hehehehe! That would have been really interesting. How long did it take you to leash train it?
I did start him out really young--like when he was still a kitten...maybe that's the difference...???
On my Instagram I have photos of my kitty at the beach--he quite enjoyed it. Took me a couple months for him to get used to the harness... http://instagram.com/realdmat
I used to have maine coons. Maine coons love the water, in general. Had one that would try and jump in the bathtub with the grandkids or walk right in when I was showering so he could be with me if I opened the door for him. Not sure I'd been brave enough to halter/leash train. That's awesome. Beautiful kitty, btw!
I would definitely say that it makes a difference to get them use to it early. My cats were older when I got them so they had never been use to being on a leash. I did have a cat years ago who liked being on a leash and he was older but had never been on a leash until I adopted him. I use to take him outside for walks all the time. He loved it!
Awww, your family is lovely! I can tell your kitties are so loved! Amazing video, I think it's amazing enough that your kitty walks on a leash Mine would go crazy on me if I tried that D: ! But it sounds like a great thing, specially now he is an indoors only cat, not sure I will be training it to do that anytime soon though
